After 30 years of campaigning and four and a half years of fighting off a visceral globalist attempt to deny the democratic decision of the British people to leave the European Union, Parliament has voted to ratify a new treaty with the EU which implements Brexit.

The new law about Relationships and Sex education (RSE) comes into effect for all schools in England this September. Children from the age of four will be taught what schools think they should learn about sex, sexuality and gender dysphoria. While some schools act responsibly, this law has created an environment where children can be misled, confused and in some cases prematurely sexualised if a school decides to teach inappropriate content.
The Wuhan virus was first under-estimated, and now grossly over-estimated in its severity, but there is no doubt that the reaction to it will have many strange and unexpected consequences.
It is clear that the Wuhan virus is serious and more people will need hospital attention than normal for perhaps two or three months. Yet across the world it is being used to justify the removal of centuries of civil liberties and prolonged ‘lockdowns’ based on modelling which is spurious at best.
Since Western nations first became aware of Wuhan Coronavirus in early January there have been so many conflicting reports about it that it is almost impossible to know exactly how to respond to it. Reports have differed vastly from one country to another, and even within a country the official narratives have sometimes been so fluid as to be reversed 180 degrees and back again in a few short weeks.
The New Year has begun with a new furore erupting over parents removing their children from school for ‘unauthorised absences’ during term time.
Rules in place since 2013 mean that parents must ask Head Teachers to take a family holiday during term-time. Despite such requests hardly ever being granted, more than 630,000 pupils were taken out of school anyway, for which parents can be fined.
One of the current cause celebres of the woke illiberal elite is the Gender Pay Gap. The problem of wokeness is that its proponents look for problems and injustices everywhere, and find them even where they don’t exist. This is the purpose of Critical Theory, originally developed by Max Horkheimer of the Frankfurt School, which has morphed into post-modern intersectional theory in the 21st century: the notion that society is plagued with interlinking injustices against an ever growing collective of minority and victim groups.
It is astounding that over three years since the referendum to leave the EU, that a hardcore of extreme Remoaners still cannot accept that they are on the losing side and that the majority of the British people disagree with them. One of their most despicable reactions of is to pump the false narrative that Brexit has caused an increase in so-called ‘hate crime’.
The government announcement that it will relax conditions on student visas is a step in the wrong direction for UK immigration policy.
The UK state pension is run like a Ponzi scheme. Taxpayers pay National Insurance but this is used to pay the pensions of already-retired people rather than to build up a personal investment pot.
